Tows Advance
Final Score: 72-12
A bright sunny morning provided the perfect conditions for rugby with a little rain having softened the pitches.
Tows were coming off some competitive fixtures and a mixed bag of results against a Casuals side who had achieved some good results over the first month or so of the season.
With a late change to the line-up following the withdrawal of the Tows fullback, everyone was fired up and ready to go.
From the first whistle the Tows pack showed their intent and played on the front foot for most of the match. This resulted in plenty of quick ball for the backs.
Casuals showed some enterprise in the backs, and two breakaway tries resulted in them being in touch and a threat at the break at 32 - 12.
Tows put the pressure on in the second half and despite some spirited effort by the Casuals racked up 40 unanswered points to round out the performance of the season.
Ed P. deservedly won man of the match for a tremendous all round performance rounded off by the move of the match for his try.
The backs showed great fluency in getting the ball out wide, with Charlton, Euan and Will all having the time and space to pick holes in the visitors defence.
The try count and scorers were unfortunately not noted in the euphoria, but well done to everyone.
Performances like this win matches against allcomers.
