Daventry (A) - Won 32-24
Final Score: 32-24

We took our whole squad to Daventry, and they all contributed very well in a very entertaining game for all the spectators.

The first half started very well with Towcester scoring the first try with only a couple of minutes gone, two or three phases of possession moved us down the pitch and after some very good handling in the backs a sweeping move to the left put Joe over in the corner.

From the kick off Ben and Thomas H combined well to catch and drive the ball back over halfway and the forwards delivered quick ball which the backs moved left. Charlie made a great inside break and drew a couple of tacklers, he then made a good pass to the right to Chris who was supporting well and Chris beat his man to score the second try.

The third try came soon after following more goof play by the forwards, Josh picked the ball up from the base of a ruck and made an excellent individual run to score under the posts. After coming close with two long range conversions Solly slotted this one over to make the score 17-0.

We then went to sleep a bit and allowed Daventry back into the game, they scored a try from a close range penalty, and another from a good break to the right, converting one to make the score 17-12 by half time.

During the latter part of the first half and in the second half we made a number of player changes, as having taken the whole squad to this fixture we wanted to make sure all players got good game time. It did disrupt our pattern of play a bit in the second half and we were less fluid than in the first, however thanks to some very strong individual runs by a number of players, Jai, George N and Josh in particular, we scored three tries in the second half and conceded two to Daventry.

Overall a very good result for the whole squad, and well done to all.
